Paper Abstract:
|
Many of the concepts that came up with the Web 2.0 phenomena have already been adopted successfully in enterprise
context. Wikis are used to create specifications and documentations in virtual teams, blogs build new communication
channels within departments, and social networks help to find employees with relevant skills as fast as never before.
However, while the concept of mashups - aggregating and integrating data and/or functionality from already existing
applications - prospers in the world wide web, enterprise adoption is still rare. In this article we start with highlighting the
potential and introducing a reference architecture for enterprise mashups. Subsequently we move from these theoretic
approaches to practical interpretation and implementation in a large scale enterprise. Based on our experiences we give
recommendations to follow and illustrate pitfalls to avoid when setting up a mashup architecture in a large scale
enterprise. |
